David Crew

David has a BA Hon's, in Fine Art. from Canterbury, Medway and University of East London. He has been a member of Rye Society of Artists since 1972.

Born in Hove, Sussex, he has worked from his home studio in Rye for many years.

"There is invariably a strong narrative element in my work, with the relationship between time - whether transient, seasonal or historic - and place as an enduring theme. I paint mostly in oils, whilst also retaining a love of drawing as both preparation for painting and as a finished art form".
