Estelle Vera
Estelle Vera | Painter
Estelle Vera was born in the countryside of Switzerland into a creative family of musicians, painters, dancers and writers. But not only culture also by being surrounded from nature had a deep impact on her or as she puts it “I fell in love with nature probably with my first cry”.
After her Master at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts HSLU she was drawn to Italy and continued her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Bologna. The vibrant atmosphere at the academy but also Italy itself with its overflowing pot of art history and its joyfulness influenced her way further.
Her curiosity and openness for technics, materials and experiments brought her to further education in sculpting and digital medias and made her body of work developing in a very much so called multidisciplinary way, already when it wasn’t trendy at all. Also in the role as a lecturer and tutor at Bern Academy of Arts HKB she always tried to foster the openness for the rich possibilities creativity is offering.
However, about a decade ago she rediscovered classical painting and follows this intriguing path with enthusiasm and devotion. The move to the coast of South England brought new inspirations and the conversation deepened. The subtle colors, the sensitive light and the beauty and fragility of the objects found on her walks along the beaches became once more a dive into silence. As an honoring of simplicity and in a slow process paintings emerge filled with great wonder - and gratitude.
